Sports Bras

Why wear a sports bra?

No woman wants saggy breasts or breast pain.

Breasts do not contain any intrinsic structural support. This means that ligaments can be easily stretched if repeatedly loaded, such as during running, resulting in saggy breasts. Over half of women feel some kind of pain and discomfort if they exercise without a proper bra.

A well-fitting sports bra should always be worn during exercise to reduce pain and movement of breasts.

What type of sports bra?

There are two main types of sports bra - encapsulated and compression. Encapsulated bras separate and support each breast in its own cup and sometimes have under-wiring. Compression bras hold the breasts into the body. Compression bras are generally more common, but you should wear whichever style you prefer.

What type of impact?

The higher the level of activity, the higher level of support you will need. Most manufacturers will indicate the level of activity for which their various sports bras are best suited and your cup size is important too. In general larger busted women will need more support and a higher impact bra than smaller breasted women.
